Carlton made a lot of dishes, bowls and other items with a leafy theme. This shape however is not from the Carlton factory.

| At first glance these two vases look quite plausible until you look at the mark to the base. This particular crown mark, although registered by Wiltshaw & Robinson was never actually used by the factory.

| Not known to have been faked until this example appeared on eBay. The giveaways are incorrect colours, poor quality decoration, and of course the Crown mark with the addition of 'LTD'. An original is shown on the left for comparison.

| A strange pair this. Marked ‘Carlton Ware, made in England, they appear crudely finished.

The original Monks cruet was first made in the late 1960s and was sold with a stand. Numerous fakes exist. On these the decoration is usually pale and poorly executed, as the examples in the right hand picture show.
For comparison, a set of originals, unfortunately also missing its base, is shown in the left hand picture.
