Although The Snowman has been crafted by several potteries, including Royal Doulton, It was never previously made by Carlton Ware. However limited editions of some snowman figure are being produced by Carlton. However this is not one of them.
The early crown mark with the addition of ‘Ltd’ is consistent with a number of varied fakes appearing on the market to trap the unwary

| A small Cruet set in the shape of an electric toaster, with the salt and pepper being two slices of toast. Unfortunately the faker has added a fake Carlton mark as shown in the inset.

Carlton Ware did actually produce a plaque similar to this, but on behalf of Davenport so it would never have had a Carlton Ware mark.
The colours are pale and poorly finished.
The plaque is impressed Staffordshire, England.
