| Carlton Ware never made a cannon teapot. We believe a similar one to that shown here was made by Sadler in the 1930s, from which this recent fake may have been copied. It carries the early Crown mark which has been modified by the addition of Ltd. and is clearly intended to deceive.

There is a large range of these highly decorated items in earthenware. All are marked: CARLTONS FANTASIA WARE BURSLAM. Note that Burslem is spelt incorrectly with an ‘A’.
