Originally produced by Carlton Ware during the 1960’s, this Brewmaster figure made for Flowers Brewery has been faked extensively.
This garishly decorated fake on the right carries the early Carlton Ware Crown mark with the addition of ‘Ltd’.

Another slant on the fake golfer figures. This one comes with his own ashtray, which is designed as a bunker, with bent golf club in it. The figure appears to be old, but the mark is a later one, suggesting it was made by someone else and the mark applied later.

Here is a variation on the fakes golfers. The enterprising faker has stuck this one to an ashtray. The figure is basically the same shape mould as the other golfer figures.

These golfer figures are seen in abundance at fairs, auctions and on eBay. They are decorated in various colours and backstamped with a deceitful Cooper Black mark.
The figures are loosely based on an original golfing figure made by Carlton Ware before World War One and designed by the artist John Hassall. If they are compared directly they are quite different as can be seen from the picture of the very rare original.
