| These Toucans have been faked extensively and many versions of fakes are there to fool the unwary. The counterfeiter has got more sophisticated over the years and early faults, such as the feet not being painted have been corrected on later fakes. The standard of decoration is still cruder than the originals, see for example the way the colours blend on the chest of the original versus the distinct lines of colour on the fake.

| This cute Kangaroo with ‘Joey’ salt pot is not what it claims to be. A good clue is the over embellishment with the Guinness logo almost everywhere.
The Carlton Ware script mark applied is also incorrect for the period it would have been made in.
